Men who suffer from gender dysphoria will no longer be allowed to professionally box against women as a “transgender.”
The World Boxing Council (WBC), much to the chagrin of the LGBT lobby, has announced that biological males are now banned from women’s boxing because their masculine biology gives them an “unfair advantage” against the fairer sex.
The WBC says that while it “firmly and unequivocally supports transgender rights,” as well as “recognizes the gender identity of an individual athlete,” it is simply wrong for men to pretend to be “women” while beating up actual women. (Related: A growing number of female athletes is speaking out against the transgender takeover of their sports teams.)
Transgenders are free to play whatever sports they wish within their own spaces – or to play for the biologically correct team when outside of their own spaces – but they do not have the right to invade women’s sports and disadvantage real women who work hard for scholarships and careers.
“A combat sport bout should occur between two equally matched competitors,” the WBC says. “At present there is no consensus whether a bout between a transgender woman against a cisgender (biological) woman is a fair bout between two equally matched competitors.”
“Metric such as testosterone level less than 10 nanomoles per liter (achieved by using testosterone suppression medication in the transgender woman), in isolation is inadequate to ensure fairness at the time of the bout.”
It is laudable for the WBC to issue this ruling, and to clarify that even biological men who take testosterone-suppression drugs are prohibited from competing against actual women.
For the vast majority of professional boxers, they are already well past the point of puberty by the time they reach the big leagues. This means that no matter how much “therapy” or “treatment” a gender dysphoric man undergoes, he will still have an unfair advantage competing against real women.
“It can be argued that by the time a transgender woman combatant launches her professional career she has already gone through male puberty thus conferring her with the musculature and bony structure of a male,” the WBC added in a statement.
“So, a transgender woman combatant may have an unfair advantage over her cisgender woman combatant.”
Boxing is an especially dangerous sport in today’s trans-obsessed world because women’s lives are put at serious risk whenever they are forced to fight against a biological man.
“Combat sports such as boxing are unique since every punch thrown at the head is thrown with the intention of winning by causing a knockout (which is nothing but a concussive head injury),” says Dr. Nitin Sethi.
“These sports carry an exceedingly high risk for both acute and chronic neurological injuries. Boxers have died during a bout or in the immediate aftermath due to traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) such as an acute subdural hematoma (SDH), epidural hematoma (EDH), subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), intracranial hematoma and injury to the great vessels of the neck such as carotid or vertebral artery dissection.”
The playing field must remain level, the WBC contends, and that means keeping men with men and women with women – just like it always was up until now.
A 2019 study out of New Zealand found that even after “hormone therapy,” a biological man still maintains “intolerable unfairness” when competing against women as a transgender.
“… hormone therapy will not alter bone structure, lung volume or heart size,” the study explains, adding that other “natural advantages” include “joint articulation, stroke volume and maximal oxygen uptake.”
